Jardin Corrugated can trace its history back to 1905, when Henry William Du Jardin starts collecting wooden packing cases from businesses in London to break up and sell as firewood. Soon after a factory was established in Shoreditch, where Henry started to repair and sell old packing cases.
After the war, the family business concentrates on corrugated cases, and the company changes its name to H Jardin and Sons. In 1950 the company moved to Enfield, where it stayed until 1965, when production operations were moved to Mepal Airfield in Cambridgeshire, the current location of Jardin Corrugated.
In 1982, following Ted Du Jardin’s manoeuvres to sell and buy back the company to displace his brother Harry, the name Jardin Corrugated Cases was established.
During the 1990’s the company went through major investment programmes, which included rebuilding the corrugator, and the building in which it is housed. This proves a fruitful investment as turnover doubles between 1994 and 2000.
In February 2006 the Du Jardin family sell its stake in Jardin Corrugated Cases to Tim Rowett. The company then gets more investment, and soon after purchases a new multi-point gluer.
Further investment is made in December 2006 when Jardin Corrugated Cases acquires Rowpak Containers in Manchester. This enabled both companies to have a total UK presence, cutting potential transport costs to multi site customers.
